Difficulty: Low
Preparation: 30 minutes
Portions: 8 people
Ingredients:
  • Dark chocolate 200 g
  • Dry biscuits 175 g
  • Burro 150 g room temperature
  • Sugar 150 g
  • Eggs 2 medium
  • Rum 10 g
  • Icing sugar as needed
Preparation:

To create chocolate salami, first you have to cut dark chocolate into small pieces. Put it in a cup and let it melt in the microwave, and once it is completely melted, let it cool.
In the meantime add the butter at room temperature into a small pieces and whisk it with the sugar using the electric whisk, and add the rum.
Lightly beat the eggs and pour a little at a time into the bowl with the butter and sugar, continuing to whisk with whips until you have a light and fluffy dough. At this point pour the melted chocolate now at room temperature. You must keep turning until you see that the chocolate will not be well blended.

Now take the biscuits and chop them coarsely with your hands in a bowl, and then add them to the chocolate, stir to mix all the dough.

Take a sheet of baking paper and transfer the dough, with the spatula spread the dough creating a sausage. Lift one of the two ends of the sheet, bring it towards the center and roll up the salami until it is completely wrapped with baking paper.

Fold the two ends of side paper making sure that the salami is tightly closed.
Put the salami on the tray, put it in the fridge and leave it to harden for a whole night. Once it is firmed, if you want you can tie it with string and sprinkle it with icing sugar.

Storage:

You can keep it in the fridge, closed in an airtight container, for 2-3 days at most. If you want you can freeze it for 1 month at most.

Advice:

As an alternative to rum you can use another liqueur to your liking and if you want an alcohol-free version you can use the same dose of orange juice.
