The aubergine parmigiana is the queen of unique dishes! A dish shared and disputed as origins from north to south Italy, with some different ingredients and methods of composition, but all absolutely fabulous! Breathtaking City: Alberobello!

The City of Alberobello, one of the most beautiful small city in Puglia, has now become one of the most famous tourist destinations in Italy.
Thanks to its spectacular trulli, it offers its visitors a unique show in the word. These particular houses make it a real postcard, each of its alleys is a whim to be discovered.

Alberobello can be reached through the classic streets of Puglia, full of olive trees, classic fry stone walls but above all history.
In fact, you pass through the marvelous landscape of the Murgia and the Valle d'Itria, a very special place, which is the setting for this small town.

It is very fascinating how, both the trulli and the olive trees, have merged their lives together. In Puglia there is an undefined number that is around 50 and 60 million olive trees, in fact only Puglia produces 40% of Italian olive oil.
But not to be underestimated are their size, their appearance and the age of some of these ancient olive trees; with their immense trunks, knotted, twisted, make each tree extraordinarily unique.

The olive trees of Puglia, the trulli, the land, the people and their way of life speak of the power of nature; and it is a precisely in this sense that Alberobello and its trulli are a model of this territory.
The material used for the construction of the trullo came from the creation of a cistern that was dug to create a source of water supply: precisely with the stones that came from the excavation that led to the construction of the trullo.

Its peculiarity is precisely the trulli, which with their shape, their unique colors but also with their history made of stones, sweat and fatigue, become unique pieces in the world!

Alberobello being a very small city you can easily visit it by taking a walk in one day.
What can you see in a single day in Alberobello? My suggestion is to go first to the "Rione Monti" and, later, to the "Rione Aia Piccola", which houses most of the city's trulli.

In the Rione Monti, you should not miss the Church od Sant'Antonio, a majestic trullo-shaped building. The areas that live up to be visited are those where the oldest trulli are born, such as Via Monte Nero, Via Monte San Michele and via Monte Pasubio.

Before going to the other area, I can advise you to take advantage of some shopping in the various shops and artisan shops.

Once you have arrived in Aia Piccola, you will immediately notice the change. In the area there are many houses in the shape of a trullo, all inhabited, and offers the opportunity to appreciate a series of panoramic views nothing short of enchanting.

One thing you could also di, without following any pre-established itinerary, is to get lost among the small streets and the trulli of this wonderful village. But one more thing you should not miss is "The Belvedere di Alberobello", a real show, from which you can admire the whole Rione Monti from above.

When you are tired of wandering through the shops and walking on the uphill of the city, it is a must to have a little restorative break: you can find many trulli used as a restaurant and other small bars that serve typical local dishes.
The Apulian cuisine will be a tasty discovery!!
